It was a historical day when 15 rural and tribal people received their BSS certificate and 15 people received certificates in other courses. “We didn’t get a chance to go to a real college, but ARCC gave us the feeling of how it could be” shared one of the tribal women who received her government certificate in tailoring. It was a joy to see the bunch take an oath to serve the community and the nation through their skill education.
Its been 8 years since the ARCC stood its ground to do skill development for the rural and tribal folk in Anaikatty. 350 people gathered on Aug 24th, 2019 at the Bethany Campsite in Anaikatty. Among them were children, tribal women and young boys. The morning started with the Head Master in charge of the Government School in Anaikatty, Mr.Balachander, who opened the stalls. The competitions for the students were done in Computer, Tailoring, Embroidery and Beautician Courses and the winners received prizes. Mrs.Chitra of Naturals Franchisee in Ganapathy, Mr.Stanley, declared the prize winners for the Beautician competitions. Also, Mrs.Kalpana and a team of young children engaged the children in songs, moral stories and activities. Good Lunch was served to everyone. After lunch the cricket competitions began between two villages panapalli and thoovaipathy. The boys were excited to be there and receive prizes. Sports competitions were conducted for the women and children as well. In the evening, there was a cultural program depicting the culture of the Irulas, distribution of certificates for the students of ARCC.
